This is the trip of a lifetime! And your chance to go behind the scenes in New York's fashion district. Your hostess is Janet Pray, owner of American Sewing Expo and Islander Sewing Systems, and your guides are Marsha McClintock, owner of Sew Many Options Tours and SAF-T-POCKETS Patterns, and noted sewing instructor Marla Kazell. The tour begins on Sunday at our hotel, near the garment district, with a get acquainted dinner. Activities include a private half-day city bus tour, a visit to designer Koos van den Akker's work room, a private showing at FIT's clothing collection and a visit to their museum exhibit. We will also visit many of New York's designer fabric, trim stores and a fabric flower factory. An evening at a Broadway musical is planned with a behind-the-scenes tour of "Wicked". You will see New York's spectacular view from the "Top of the Rock", enjoy an evening Dinner Cruise around Manhattan, as well as some additional surprises. There will also be free time to explore New York. Space is limited to 22 so don't delay.

You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from New York. We will meet at the Hampton Inn Manhattan (59 W. 35th Street) on Sunday, April 10. Check-in is 3:00pm.

Please do not make flight arrangements until you have been notified that the minimum group number (10) has been met. Please note: We will be using mass transportation during the tour. It is important that participants are able to walk a half mile at a moderate pace and climb several flights of stairs.

Minimum group size 10, maximum 22. Reserve your place today by sending the registration form along with a deposit of $800 ($50 non-refundable) payable to American Sewing Expo. Balance is due by February 15, 2011. No refunds after final payment unless a replacement can be found. State your roommate preference or we will make every effort match you with a suitable roommate. You will receive a letter confirming your reservation.
